@kampori I agree with you, Fletcher was amazing and a sort of pioneer on tuba as well. Have a listen to his version of the Vaughan Williams Tuba Concerto; so far I prefer it to any I have heard but I don't think the whole thing is on YOUTUBE yet.

I like Oystein's performance of Czardas, but all in all John Fletcher is still a god.

@71196jmg check out the recordings of Star Wars he did with the LSO and Philip jones brass ensemble. Go to the foundation website and you can order two of his cd´s!!

i had a lesson with james gourlay. one of fletcher's students the other week and he spoke so highly of him as a player and now i see why. what a fantastic player. i can only imagine how well he played in ensemble settings |
