It's a terrific 9-race card with full fields and some great competitive races. I always expect a surprise or two and some very good prices to make the wagering lots of fun.
8 of the 9 races (all but race one) are certainly playable from a gambling perspective. The four races offering the most potential value are the fifth, sixth, eighth, and ninth.

Our "Best Bets Pkg" provides you a way to wager a small amount with our "must use"

Over the years I've found it very profitable to play "All on Top" Trifectas on Closing Day. I use all the horses in the win position with my three Top Selections under in the Place and Show positions. C... Pick 3's at Hollywood Park - It's daytime racing again this Friday at Hollywood Park with First Post at 12:30pm PST.
I'm going with 3 Pick three plays on Friday and each include one or two "ALL" legs.
Pick Three for Races 4-5-6:
In the first leg, I think I know the winner, so he's a single. The second leg is a large field (12 entries)and I find it very difficult to settle on a pace I can be comfortable with so many variables, in fact almost anything can happen here, so it looks like a great "All" leg to me. In the third leg I can pretty easily eliminate three of the runners, so I'll use 5 horses and two of them are good long shots. Makes for a very good $60 play.
Pick Three for races 6-7-8:
Going with 2 separate tickets. The one most risky will be with a horse I like (not the favorite) as a single in the first leg to All - All in the final 2 legs. The more likely winner, but likely lower payout will be using the single on the back end in leg 3 with All- All in the ... Terrific 10-Race Card on Saturday! - Friday recap:

Every now and then you spot a First Time Starter, you like at a big price and 15:1 morning line looks real appealing to me .especially for slow footed favorites and I well remember Cox's Ridge from more youthful days in Hot Springs, Arkansas. I haven't found any of the off spring half as good, but can easily support this one in Race 5 #8 Frannie at 15:1 Morning Line.

We have a key long shot in all 10 races and are playing 7 trifectas and 2 superfectas on Friday. Each of these are $27 plays or less. We'll put $36 into the P6 and another $36 on the PPA and then $25 toward the Early P4 which should pretty well cover a complete day of racing.

We're off to a small profit to start the week wagered $212 on Thursday and got back $584, thanks to our early P4 win, which included our long shot winner in the fifth which paid $49.40.
For the everyday horse player, wager selection is every bit as important as the handicapping selections. Friday's card is absent of many big priced horses worth taking a leap with, so it lends itself to one of my favorite strategies 3 horse over 4 horse exacta plays. I like to go $4 on this wager making the total bet $36 (just love to stay under $40). We'll have six $36 exacta plays for Friday night structured like this:
ABC over ABCD is a $9 play , done 4 times equals $36. We'll have six of these, so the total outlay will be $216 and very likely deliver another winner. In addition we'll do both the early and late P4's ,as well as, another $36 on each the P6 and PPA.
Good ... $212 to start the new week at Hollywood - We'll invest $212 at Hollywood park on Thursday to hopefully start the week on the right side of the ledger.
We'll play both the early and late P4's, the PPA, the P6, and 2 small trifecta plays (the second and fifth races). Let's take a closer look at a couple races:
Race Two: On my first pass it looked like #8 Peppy Bolly much the best of this group. Closer examination reveals two outstanding "first time starters", the 6 & 8, plus 2 outstanding long shots. I'll use the 8 and one of the first timers on top with the long shots under. Certainly worth a $24 play, as it could easily return 10 times or more the amount ventured.
Race Five: Here I'm using the horse which "should" win with 2 very good prices that "could" win. It's always a debate I have with myself on whether it's best to box the three horses in an exacta or use the three in the win and place position over All in a trifecta play. As there are a lot of long shots in a big field (eleven horse... Double P6 Carryover $159,777 at Hollywood Park - No one hit the P6 on Thursday or Friday at Hollywood Park resulting in another Large P6 Carryover for Saturday.

It's under the lights at Hollywood Park as they go back to Friday night racing. First Post will be 7:05 pm PST.
We're off to a winning start to the Meet, thanks to our trifecta win on Thursday in the 5th. There is a $39,266 Pick Six Carryover to spice up the Friday night card. I'm going with singles in the sixth and seventh, using two horses in the third and eighth, and going with 4 horses in the difficult fourth. In addition, our BalWaL will be a small P3 covering races 4-5-6 and trifectas in the fifth, sixth, and eighth. I'm throwing in a small Superfecta play in the third.
Golden Gate:
Wow, they haven't hit the Pick Six in well over a week of racing and the Carryover is up to $335,167. Again we'll take a small, but smart shot at it. Racing starts at 12:45pm PST and it's certainly worth taking a small gamble.

There are lots of horses running over the last 5 races at Hollywood Park (my Favorite Racetrack) and I expect the late P4 and final P3 to be very good payouts. I'm also playing trifectas in the second, fifth, and sixth.
#2 -- Over $100,000 Pick Six Carryover at Golden Gate
No one has hit the Pick Six there in over a week, so the Pool is getting downright big. I expect tomorrows Pool to exceed $250,000, so a good time to take a small, but smart, shot!

Good Luck! ... Saturday is Breeders Cup! - Friday Breeders Cup Recap:
It was a very exciting day and considerably "less chalky" than the predictions! $332 invested returned $1216 thanks to our Trifecta win in the sixth ($36 got $458) and our winning P3 ticket (races 6-7-8), yes we had the $42.40 horse in our selections!
Saturday at the Breeders Cup looks even more promising, and we'll play the P5, P6, Early and Late P4's, three or four trifectas, at least one Superfecta (in the classic), and 2 key Pick Three plays. I love the fact you can play 50 cent increment bets in the exotics! It allows you to afford to play more races and you can also play more where you think it's right!
Good Luck on Saturday at the Breeders Cup! First Post is 9:05am PDT for the 12-race card.... Breeders Cup - Fillies & Mares on Friday! - This years World Championships of Racing (The Breeders Cup) starts on Friday with the Fillies & Mares at Churchill Downs.
On Friday we don't find many great prices on Top, but certainly do underneath and, of course, there is always a surprise or two. We have Ten plays on our Friday Breeders Cup Package and look to build the bankroll on Friday and reinvest on the terrific Saturday Breeders Cup card!
At Santa Anita the card has seven races with the most value potential in the Late P4. We have 5 plays at the Great Race Place (Santa Anita).
It should be a terrific weekend of racing! Good Luck!... Breeders Cup Friday/Saturday! - On Friday November 4th we see the Fillies and Mares, then on Saturday November 5th it's the males! The 2 best days of the year to make a Big Score. Is it difficult? Yes, but when you have them lined up correctly the payoffs can be downright huge!

The most solid single appears to be in the final race nine, where #12 Unzip Me looks a head above the field. We didn't say "head and shoulders", because I also give the #1 and #8 a shot, but the 12 is definitely our most comfortable single in our $36 Baseline P6 Play.
I also like Trifecta plays in the second and sixth and am going with Pick Threes races 5-6-7 and races 7-8-9.

Good luck on Fr... Last Three Look Real Good! - The new Four -Day week starts on Thursday at Santa Anita where we'll venture about $300 to get the week started off right.
Those of us who handicap the year round and play 4 to 5 days per week appear to "see it all' over the course of the years. Some days the selections are almost painful to finally resolve at a opinion, and other days they leap off the pages. Thursday is one of those "Leap off the pages" days and the good thing is in 5 of the 8 races our first position Top Pick is NOT THE FAVORITE. I love days like these.

I'll take a small shot at each one, $48 ticket at Santa Anita and $16 at Belmont. Remember, it's best to venture just a little, and when you hit you are Way Ahead of the Game .try to hit it with your selections, not buy it with super large tickets, as many of those end up in the trash heap.
At Santa Anita, race five looks the toughest, as any one of five could be the winner and I also believe the short field in race seven has four in it with a good chance .we'll know for sure by late Thursday afternoon.
At Belmont, the weather is the big question as it's 50/50 for rain again. I'm playing a very small ticket there as follows:

The best value races appear to be the fifth, sixth and seventh where we'll venture $1 Trifecta plays in the fifth and seventh (each $60 plays) and play a $10 Exacta Box in the sixth ($60). You may strongly consider playing a Pick Three on these 3 races using our selections.

Good Luck! ... First Saturday at Fairplex - It's back to Fairplex, my least favorite racing meet of the year, although we cash some of our biggest tickets there every year!
Lots of very low priced chalk, occasionally interrupted with absolute huge bombs. It's a 5/8 mile track with almost continuous turns, definitely a "Jockey's Track".
They do offer some terrific wagering opportunities:
- Three 50 cent Pick Fours each day
- The traditional $2 P6 on the final 6 races of the day
- A $1 Win P9 covering the final 9 races.
The traditional $2 P6 paid over $20,000 (6 of 6) on Friday and 7 of 9 on the $1 win P9 paid a few hundred ..we'll see lot's of carryovers!
I think we'll make a few hundred on Saturday. First Post is 1:00pm PDT on Saturday's eleven race card.... Wednesday Closing Day at Del Mar - The best Meet we've seen in ten years at Del Mar closes on Wednesday. I expect the meet to close as in began with lots of great prices!
It's a very good 10-Race card and the Pick Six pool must be fully paid out a good day to play it. Due to the many good prices included in our selections, we're playing a little stronger than normal with six trifecta plays (one $24 and five $60). Our final BalWaL play of the Meet will be the late P4, a $36 play. We'll also venture $36 on the Pick Six and $48 on the PPA.
Orders received today will be filled today. It's always a good idea to get them early and look them over.
Good luck in our final day at Del Mar for 2011!... $273,833 P6 Carryover for Labor Day at Del Mar! - The holiday crowd could drive the P6 pool up to $1,000,000 on Monday. Any way you shake it, it's a Very Tough one to hit. I say make a strong but small play and hope you figured right rather than plunder big bucks trying to hit this one. There will be many large pools going for it and we can easily get yet another giant carryover for Wednesday.
We have another terrific 10-race card on Labor Day and I look for some more big pay offs. In 5 of the 10 races our first position Top Pick is far from being the favorite .we'll take our shot and hope the stars are lined up right.

... Terrific Racing Continues at Del Mar! - If you're a horse player, you just have to love the racing at Del Mar this year! Huge prices everyday in all the different exotics! One day it's in the Exactas and Trifectas and the next in the Doubles, Pick Threes and Pick Fours.
Thursday's card is no exception .I expect the Third, Fourth, Sixth, and Eighth races to produce very attractive pay outs. Let's look a little deeper:
Race Three - It's a short field of seven, but there's one very long shot who has a good chance to make the Exacta or Trifecta. Certainly a worthy play.
Race Four - A terrific wagering race! Eleven starters, including two VERY Big Price long shots, and my first position Top Pick should go off about 5:1 definitely a race to play.
Race Six - Courtside and Rosario (Best Horse & Best Jockey) "should" win .but ..we've got two others at big prices who "could" win. We'll swing out $27 and see.
Race Eight - Another eleven horse field, very... Free Friday Longshot - This week's Free Friday Longshot is at Del Mar, Race 7, #8 Oilisblackgold at 10:1. Use in all the usual places.... $239,000+ Pick Six Carryover at Del Mar - Sunday was a day of long shots winners and many near misses the good news is it resulted in a LARGE pick six carryover which will certainly exceed $1,000,000 if not $2,000,000!
My baseline P6 Ticket for the big carryover is a $24 play, sticking with the bet a little Win a Lot strategy. This pick six is a very tough one to hit. To cover all the potential winners, I think a minimum ticket will be $720 and that includes 2 stand out singles! Whoever can correctly select the winners in races Four and Seven will bring home the big prize on Wednesday, as almost any horse in each of these races could hit the stripe first!
It may be a good day to get one of our Customized Pick Six selections. It only cost $25 and you e-mail me the amount you want to venture and I'll give you the plays..it's all on our website.
I generally play LESS than $50 (mostly $32 or $36) on the Pick Six, but occasionally the time is right to go a little stronger. Wednesday appears to me ... Good Racing at Del Mar on Sunday - It's another good day of racing at Del Mar on Sunday. The best wagering races appear to be the final five, as the first four look a little chalky (like Saturday). Let's look a little deeper on a few of them:
Race Five: A very contentious race which could easily spring a surprise; however, I think we have three of them separated from the pack, leaving out one of the favorites. All we need is an honest pace to cash our $54 Tri Play.
Race Eight: This one brings one of my favorite wagering scenarios ie Two of them look much better than the rest of a large field ..well four of the long shots figure pretty darn close and I really like our $60 wager here.
Race Nine: Another large field, so I expect a large trifecta payoff here to finish the day. You just have to love a race where the favorite is 7:2 or more! We have Three very live long shots in this race. Another $60 Play.
First Post on Sunday is 2:00pm PDT. Good Luck!... Off and Running at Del Mar - Opening day was as expected with good racing and lots of nice prices. We only connected on two trifectas and left a very good opportunity a little disappointed, but we are optimistic on the Del Mar Meet!
Thursday's card may bear some surprises and I really think you need to "All" race seven. We are in our P4, PPA and P6.
We're laying out a little less on Thursday's plays as it's not nearly the card we saw on opening day, but if the right price horses score we'll be fine!

... A Good Start to a Big Week of Horse Racing - We didn't get the $120,000 Pick Six, but we did get the week started on the right foot with a win of $1555 on Thursday! We hit the early P4, the 50cent early P5, and all three of our $40 Tri Plays!
I should mention, the early 50cent Pick Five at Hollywood Park is the Best Bet in horse racing. Why? #1 the takeout is only 14% #2 the early races tend to be small field , easy to identify winners #3 the 50 cent increment allows you to very affordably include the long shots you like. Thursday's $27 play returned $680!

First Post at Santa Anita is 12:30 PDT. Good Luck!... Ooh so close! - I'd hate to know the number of times, I've missed a large win based on bad information. Well, add one more to the number. On Wednesdays selections, I first had Position A as my single in the fifth race, but I replaced him with El Scorpio after my late barn report indicated they were quite sure the main track would be sloppy. Well, although they did go off the turf , the main track was fast. It cost us $27,000, as Position A did win in a romp and we had to settle for the $171 for 5 of 6. All in all, we had a good winning day but ooh so close to a big one!

Big 20-1 bomb at Santa Anita - Santa Anita Race Five ..I like #9 Back At You at 20:1 .I'll play him across the board and with the 2-4-7-11 in exotics.... $126K Pick 6 Carryover at Santa Anita - The races were tough at Santa Anita on Sunday, resulting in a large $126,305 Pick Six Carryover. I expect the Thursday Pick Six Pool to be $1,000,000.
Although I don't expect any huge price winners, most of the races are very contentious and a tough one to hit. I'll go with my $30 Baseline Pick Six play using 5 horses in the third, three in the fourth, and singles in each of the last four races.
In addition, I'll play $36 at the Place Pick All, have a $40 early Pick Four Play, $27 trifectas in the first and fifth races and $36 trifectas in the sixth, seventh, eighth. Our BalWaL will be a 50 cent Pick Four ($20 Play) on the final four races.
Good luck as we begin the new week of racing!... Weekend racing looks good at Santa Anita - Six of the nine races on at Santa Anita on Saturday are excellent wagering opportunities. I'll comment on a few:
Race One:
When the morning line favorite is 7:2, you've generally got a good wagering opportunity and such is the case in race one. I'll venture a $27 trifecta play using my Top Two Picks and a good long shot on Top. In the second position, I'll add in my next favorite long shot, then add in my third position Top Pick in the show position.
Race Four
This is an excellent "All" leg for doubles, Pick Threes and Pick Fours as you are "Almost" guaranteed a double digit winner in this race.
Race Five
The 5 and 6 look way better than any of the rest in this race, but going 6 1/2 fulongs we may see any of four others get in the mix. I'm going $60 here in my Trifecta Play.
Race 7
I think an excellent race, as I've got four horses in this one who will pay double digits .another $60 Trifecta Play
... Santa Anita and Oaklawn have good racing - We start the new week on Thursday with good racing at Santa Anita and Oaklawn Park. We'll have Best Bets Pkgs for each track. If you want for Oaklawn, just send us an email along with your order.
There is also a $100,000 P6 Carryover at Oaklawn , races 3-8 to add spice to the day.... Very good President's Day racing - This racing week ends on Presidents Day (Monday) with the best race card of the week. We'll see nine races with good fields and very contentious races! I'm going with Pick Three in races 1-2-3 and races 6-7-8. We'll have Trifectas in races 4 through 8 including some very nice priced horses (according to the morning line). It looks to be our fourth winning day in row.

The card turned out to be pretty chalky but we did return a nice profit.

- Our $24 Baseline P6 ticket had all six correct for $324
- 8 of 9 again on the PPA narrowly missing another large payoff
Good luck on Monday and anytime you're At The Track!... Good nine race card at Santa Anita - It's a Very Good 9-race card for Sunday at Santa Anita! Seven of the 9 races have fields of 8 or more, twelve expected to go in the fourth and ninth. It looks like a good day to make some money.
Our BalWaLers left for home happy again, we hit the P4 with our small BalWaL(Bet a little Win a Lot) play for the second consecutive day. On Saturday our $20 Play returned $287. I always like having a lot of horses in the last leg on a rainy day because if you get a couple late scratches and the favorite wins, you collect multiple times on the Pick four play, as was the case.
I think we have some good winning plays for Sunday and plan to go out a winner this week! Orders placed tonight will be filled tonight, we always recommend getting your order in early. Race 3 looks good at Santa Anita - After last week, I got a lot of comments recommending we just play the Last Race of the day. Well, it would have worked out good Last Week, but this is a new week and hope springs eternal!
The best wagering race for Thursday at Santa Anita is definitely Race Three. When my top Pick is 7:2 or more, I like the race. What's more the first time starter #2 Ghost Ride looks very interesting at 8:1.

Good Luck!... $128,667 Pick Six Carryover at Santa Anita - Santa Anita saw big prices in all but the final leg of the P6 on Saturday ($21.40, $18.60, $10.60, $12.20, $47.20, $6.00) resulting in a large , $128,667, carryover into Sunday's races!
I didn't come up with many long shots for Sunday's card, but two 8:1 shots good enough to use in our $36 Baseline Pick Six play.
In addition, I'll play a $20 BalWaL P4 covering the first four races. Will go $32 in my PPA play and have $27 Tri plays and $36 Superfecta plays for each of the fourth, sixth, and seventh races.
Will close the day with a $60 five-horse TBX in the ninth. $337 will play everything we have for Sunday and I believe it will return a nice profit.

Ron & Paul... $68K Pick 6 Carryover at Santa Anita - We said yesterday, the card looked good for prices, and we were not mistaken! Five of the 6 Pick Six legs had double digit winners resulting in a large Pick Six Carryover for Friday at Santa Anita ($68,093 carried over should get the pool to near $1,000,000!)
Both of our long shots got into the money (#11 at 6:1 finished first and #9 at 33:1 finished third) in the final race allowing our winning $36 Trifecta to bail us out for the day.
Friday's card doesn't look nearly so tough and I'm fairly comfortable with our 3 singles on our $48 Baseline Pick Six ticket. The races with the biggest payoff potential appear to be the sixth and eighth so . we'll be playing both Trifectas and Superfectas in those two races. I also have a small Tri play ($36) in the fifth where I have a long shot I really like.
Our Free Friday Long Shot sure hasn't shown much in a very long time, but this race at 7 furlongs could very well be the one. I'm going with #5 Warrens Match... Longshots to starts the week at Santa Anita - I'm playing Trifectas in each of the last five races at Santa Anita on Thursday. Why? A good long shot in the fourth. Two good long shots in each of races five, six, seven, and eight. Four of them will be $36 plays and I'll venture $60 in the seventh race. Our BalWaL will be a 50c Pick Four covering the last four races, it's a $25 play and includes four of our long shot selections.
It seems we always start the week with a nice winning day. Let's do it again on Thursday!

Best card of the Meet at Santa Anita - Saturday is Santa Anita's best card of the Meet. Ten excellent races with full fields and loads of long shots. I particularly like the fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth, where my first position Top Pick is far from the favorite in each of these races.
No one will hit the Pick Six on Saturday, even though #3 Twirling Candy will be 4:5 in the ninth. Pick the ones you like, but keep the ticket small. 5 of 6 could pay very well on Saturday.
Orders received on Friday evening will be filled on Friday evening (it's always good to get our selections early). We'll also be processing late orders until 12:30 on Saturday.
